Post Blog Anniversary Tribute

January 11, 2008 was when I created Jolly Princess @ World Wide Web. To date I am glad my blog is still alive despite my hectic schedule and having slacken from posting for months. I am happy to be able to meet some friends through blogging who not only inspired me by their thoughts but learning from them as well. Let me mention one blogger friend who had given me full support since I met him at the blogging world He is Luke Regler, his blog. http://mylifejakarta.blogspot.com/.

Luke is a teacher from United Kingdom, working and living in Jakarta Indonesia with his wife. Please do not get me wrong blogger friends. I had been inspired by all of you. However I want to mention Luke as one of the oldest blogger. Opps, I am not saying old in age, but old at the blogging world. Luke seems to understand well my mood in my blog posts. My blog is personal blog. I write anything, even my feelings, like when I am happy, sad or frustrated. When I am feeling low I would vent through my blog post. Luke comes to the rescue by writing encouraging comments. You may find his writing very direct but he is a gentle person. I hope his wife reads this post. I am sure he will get thousands of kisses from her. :)

Jolly Princess Is Four Years Old

My blog Jolly Princess @ World Wide celebrated its fourth blog anniversary last Jan 11, 2012. Yes, the birth of this blog was Jan 11, 2008. Since, then until now this had been my window to the World Wide Web.

Jolly Princess is my personal journal. I write whatever I feel I would like to share with my readers. This blog absorbs my feelings. Who says I am alone when I have the World Wide Web to share my thoughts with?  This is the beauty of being a blogger. You communicate and learn to share your feelings with others. Most of all you gain many friends.

Glad to be Back After a Long Absence

Hey folks, I had missed you guys. I was so excited when finally, after almost three weeks of waiting my internet is up and running. I disconnected my previous internet service provider to give way to the request of my nephew. We subscribed to another provider for faster internet connection. My nephew had facilitated the filing of application. That means our phone and internet is in his name. A tech accordingly called my nephew after three days of the application. The tech must have dialed a different cell phone number. After a week of waiting my nephew made a follow up. The tedious part was the waiting time for rescheduling of service order. Patience as they say is virtue.
Here is a photo I took from the small living room. Transferring to a new home is not easy especially if you have a limited budget. I am happy though I was able to get a place that is accessible to almost everywhere in Manila area. Neighbors are good. Except for the loud speaker of the karaoke and yelping of puppies, the place is quiet. I have new neighbors too, same area where the house we are renting is located. Except for one more wardrobe and automatic washing machine, I am pretty much complete with furniture and appliances we are to use. I type we for the benefits my new blog visitors.  I will share the house with my nephew and my niece.

I Am Okay, Do Not Worry

After I took a shower yesterday coming home, I thought of giving myself a treat, sleeping as long as I want. I posted earlier I was granted two days vacation leave from work. Anyhow, I had to wake up in between several hours. If I sleep continuously I will have migraine. I slept on installments, as I call it. After five hours I would wake up sat on my bed, flicked on the remote control of my television. The television is conveniently located at the foot of my bed. You could say I am lazy when I am home. I do not have cable but thankful to some stations. I could enjoy the late shows. My DVD player is likewise a welcome treat. I would play the first part of the VCD on the player. After watching the first CD, I would put in the part two. Turn off the player then go to sleep. You know what happened when I woke up.

I woke up at around three in the morning today, feeling so refreshed. Thanks to the cold medicines. I did not have difficulty in breathing. Upon waking up, I recalled I have not eaten my dinner yet. I thought of sharing my dinner and breakfast with you before I finished them all up. I never lost my appetite even if I am sick. I like the seedless mandarin oranges. Looking for good fruits in Manila? I would recommend fruits from Dizon Farms. Please do not get me wrong. I do not know the owner or I have relatives working in there. It is just that there fruits are really sweet. You could find plenty of their fruits inside supermarkets and groceries in Manila. Mandarin oranges are packed with vitamin C and cheaper compared to the other oranges. I mentioned I am wise spender in my previous post. Yes, I am!

Speaking of colds, a month ago our office had informed us they are giving free vaccines to employees and our immediate family members. At this time of the year Filipinos are vulnerable to colds because of the changes in weather temperature. I did not avail of the free vaccine. You may call me a stubborn Princess. I want my body to tell me to rest when I needed to.

Who Is That Girl?

This is another old photo of a high school teen. I know you guys are grinning. This is of the course the lady who refused to grow old and be a little princess in her dreams.

The skirt was my school uniform. The so called naughty boys, or who knows even the girls would look up whenever I went up the stairs at our school campus. Lo! They got frustrated. I used to wear short pant underneath my skirt. My mother used to scold me for wearing mini skirt however it was quite comfortable to wear. The reason I guess my mother had, was not because she did not want me to expose my legs. It was because she was saving on her laundry soap. She had to wash my skirts and shorts. Mini skirts by the way, are never out of fashion in the Philippines. Nowadays however, I would rather wear slack pants and legging jeans.

One of my blogger friends, requested me to post some of the old photos I had kept. I mentioned about the old photos and letters in my previous post. We are each others fans. She is the ever zany busy mom that you would love her sumptuous simple recipes. Want to get to know her? I am sharing the secrets.

That is all to today, folks. Your princess had been too busy lately. Thank you for all of your unwavering support. Have a wonderful day… everyone!

Princess Wardrobe

I checked on my closet for my clothes if I need to add more blouses. Normally, I do not pay much attention on what I wear. I work at night I wear jacket, sweater or shawl over my blouse because of full blast air con at the office. We are required to dress in business attire Mondays and Tuesdays only. We can wear denim jeans and t-shirts, but no rugged prints after Mondays and Tuesdays. Most of my clothes are blouses, slack and legging pants. I just have to interchange my blouses that match the color of my slack and legging pants. Not sure if my officemates noticed I only have few pairs of clothing. Hush! Please do not tell them, okay?

Sunday, I had time to inspect one by one the clothes I have on hangers. I found some blouses I could wear without the color red in them. I just added some missing buttons. I appreciated my effort buying some  branded discounted sales clothing. The colors of the cloths are just as good as new. I did not notice most of my old blouses. I hang them two at time in a hanger to economize on the space. Most of my clothes are light cotton materials and t-shirt blouses. They go perfectly with my slack and legging pants. Legging pants and t-shirt blouses are no ironed. The cotton blouses and slack pants have to be graced with easy ironing. My legging pants by the way are tight-fitting pants. They are a fashion here in Manila.

Did I not say I am thrifty? I am, not only on monies but on the use of electricity. I am an advocate of Earth Hour 60. The bottom line is no more buying of blouses. I am planning to buy two light colored legging pants. To alternate with my black, dark brown and dark blue blouses.  And that is it. I have mostly dark colored slack and legging pants. It is good I have mostly plain colored blouses. What about if they are on discounted sale again you say? Try me. I have great control over temptation when it comes to shelling out monies.

Typhoon Hit Manila Philippines

Manila, Philippines was hit by typhoon, Tuesday night, 13th of July international code name Conson. It was signal no. 2 in Manila area but wind was very strong. Some areas in Manila do not have electricity as of yet and no internet connection. The power was shut down to avoid accidents or further accidents. I am glad however that at home, waking up at 3pm  14th of July, Philippines time, our electricity service was back on. My internet connection is also working as if nothing happens.

I was at work last night and hardly felt the strong wind. The building where our office is housed is quite sturdy. I did not even feel what happened in the entire Metropolis. It was in the morning coming home from work when reality bites. Our neighbor advised me she was so scared and could not sleep keeping close watch at their roof that might be blown off. Thanks goodness the roofing was intact sparing them from major repairs. The rain was not that much. It was that wind apparently that was so scary.

At home except from missing cold water to drink everything seemed alright. I missed the electricity for a while. I slept after drying my hair with a hand fan after I had taken my shower. I just turned on my electric fan at its lowest. I woke up at the cool brush of air from my osciliating electric fan. I checked on my internet connection, typed this short post to let you know folks your Jolly Princess is still smiling.

My blog list. What they are blogging about. ♥
