Income Tax

-->
-->
One thing I have not expected when I inquired about my salary for the end of December was getting below the usual amount of my salary. I put back my ATM card to the slot of the machine to recheck after an hour. Yet, I was given the same account balance for the second time. Then, I remembered the advice months back through our email about the possible adjustment in our income tax.

I sent text message to an office mate and asked about her salary. She replied she was also wondering why she received lower salary despite reporting for work during holidays. Last night, upon reporting for work, I read an email sent by our HR Department. It was a confirmation about our tax adjustment.

Gosh! Not the right timing after the expenses just right after the Christmas and New Year. I just consoled myself it is alright it is not my money anymore. For those officemates of mine who received tax credits they my have an upbeat mood.

Paying taxes may not be welcome to some but like I told my nephew it is part of growing up. We have responsibility not only to ourselves, our families and friends but most importantly to our country. I told him he should to be proud of himself as he is now a citizen that helps build his nation. He had his first job September last year after college graduation. He got lucky he was hired after second attempt of job hunting.

Hi JP,
Paying tax always bring mixed feelings.
On the one hand we are aware that it is an obligation to our country.
But on the other hand we would be afraid that the tax money would not be used properly.
Thank you for sharing.

@delightfullness – You will, soon as you get a job after you become a full time nurse. @Stephaine – I am glad I am able to share something. Btw- my parents were the ones benefited by the taxes I had been paying. They got citizen discounts. @Multibrand – It is alright. Each one of us has our own duties. We will not be answerable for someone else misdemeanour.

Being an accountant, I understand the plight of every paying employee. If only there is such a thing as TAX LOAN, I shall be the first one to avail on it! ;') hahaha

@situsonline - Before, I entertained same kind of thoughts. But now I would tell myself. Let them be responsible for their actions. As long as I am doing my duty I would feel fine. @Ryan - I was not affected that much. My less spending last Christmas and New saved me from borrowing money from my friends. (lol)
