Over the years I had kept a cute teapot. It is a gift from a friend who was apologetic she could only afford to give me a teapot. She did not know I had been looking for a simple teapot. It is a porcelain teapot and really cute. I rarely use it because of its size. It is only a bit bigger than the coffee mug I am using. I tried to look for small teacups but those I found are either too small or the size does not match my teapot.
My teapot is not destined to be alone. Last month my sister accompanied her daughter who is to stay with me in Manila to look for a job. My sister brought with her so many items like rice cooker, whistling kettle, dish bowl and three teacups. These items are sort of gifts to me. I was very thankful I do not have to buy them anymore. To my surprise, the teacups matched my teapot! ☺
The teacups were among those brought home by her husband from Japan. My brother in law had worked in Japan for so long. He decided to come home years back, after they were able to save enough to buy their own house. My niece and I are enjoying the company of my teapot and teacups. A plain tea or green tea is very enjoyable after meal or at snack time.
