I am glad after years of inactivity due to pandemic we are slowly doing back to business. Pandemic taught resilient Filipinos to go on, move forward. Valentines Day is not only a celebration of relationship. Rather more on the business side for those whose income depends on selling flowers and keepsakes related to the occasion.

Aside from flower shops, inside the malls where those who can afford the price go. There is a place in the City of Manila, Dangwa located in Santa Cruz, frequented by buyers looking for much cheaper price. Stores in the area sell bunch of flowers, bouquets, and flower arrangements for all occasions.

I am watching news on tv everyday. I see videos and photos of innovative vendors creating flower bouquets inserted with, onions, peppers, paper money bills and other items. The increasing prices of commodities not only in Metropolis but the whole Philippines gave these vendors the idea. They say this is the most practical way instead of giving plain bouquet of flowers on Valentines Day.

The bouquet of vegetables is more expensive of course, compared to buying vegetables in supermarkets and groceries. But, the bouquet is Instagramable, after all. Prices of vegetables especially onions are very expensive in the Philippines. So, why not, coconut? 😀
