It is September

It is September, amazing how days passed by and I hardly notice it. The benefit of being busy is you do not get bored.  Right, there is no part in my brain that says I am bored. There had been lots of events that happened last month. My TV had been my company for several days. I do not have cable but the local news provided me with the important info I needed. Online news is likewise of equal importance.
.

This part of the year is rainy season in the Philippines.  But unlike previous year, I had not expected we would have too many typhoons this year as projected by our weather men at PAG-ASA, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration. Flood follows in some parts of Manila as rainfall invaded the city. Thanks goodness, our place is exempted from flooding despite our proximity to a river. A place in Eastern Visaya, was rocked by 7.6 magnitude of earthquake. One casualty was reported but the damages to properties and infrastructure are enormous.

Breaking News

After the flood and surviving typhoon Helen, Filipinos are again deeply saddened as a private plane crashed yesterday, around 4pm, 18th of August, off a shore Masbate City, south of Manila. On board the ill fated plane is Jesse Robredo our Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary.  The plane pilot, Captain Jessup M. Bahinting, a veteran of flying aircrafts sent distress call to Masbate airport for emergency landing due to engine trouble. The plane did not make it to the airport. It crashed off the sea about 500 meters away from the airport.

Rescue and retrieval operation is still ongoing as I am posting this blog. Prayers and Catholic masses are being offered for the safety of the Secretary, the pilot and the co pilot. Their fate or chance of survival is still uncertain as of now. Don Abrasado the aide of Secretary Robredo survived the crash by jumping off the plane. The crash was witnessed by some fishermen and residents who mentioned of seeing smoke on the tail of the plane before it went down.

My blog list. What they are blogging about. ♥
